CompanyOn or Noterro? Two Canadian tools, two ways to run your practice.
Both are built in Canada, store data in Canada and give you booking, charting, billing and a 14-day free trial. Noterro grows through three plan tiers; CompanyOn is one flat plan with mobile and home visit tools included. Here is a fair side-by-side so you can decide.
Noterro is a trademark of its respective owner and is named for identification only. Comparison verified October 26, 2026.
The short version
Two good tools. Different practices.
Neither platform is better in the abstract. One of these lists will sound like your week.
CompanyOn fits well when
Care happens in clients' homes, in the community or on the road, and you need routing, mileage estimates and visit check-in and check-out.
You want one flat plan with SMS reminders, room scheduling and TELUS eClaims included, instead of moving up tiers.
Your agency runs home care contracts with EVV requirements that CompanyOn supports.
You are growing from solo to a team with admin staff and multiple locations and want one price per practitioner.
You prefer structured, discipline-specific charting templates and a native charting app.
Noterro fits well when
You are a clinic-based solo practitioner who wants the lowest entry price and can start on Core.
You chart by voice and want AI Scribe and form summaries built into the platform.
You want a clinic-branded client app, Google Calendar two-way sync and Mailchimp marketing tools.
You are moving from Jane and value Noterro's free white-glove data migration.
You run packages, memberships and association discounts and the Max tier covers them.
Where care happens
Similar roots, different centre of gravity.
Noterro started as SOAP Vault, a charting tool for massage therapists, and grew into a clean clinic platform: online booking, a branded client app, AI Scribe and solid invoicing. Its Noterro GO add-on acknowledges mobile practitioners with service areas, travel buffers and route overviews.
CompanyOn started from the home visit itself. The native app carries the schedule, client records and charting, Google Maps plans the route and estimates mileage, and visit check-in and check-out feed billing and EVV workflows for supported agencies, all in the base plan rather than a higher tier. Clinic work, rooms and locations fit in the same record.
Clinic-based solo practice: both work; Noterro is cheaper on its Core tier
Mobile, home or community care: CompanyOn includes the toolkit; Noterro GO covers routing on Plus and Max
Home care contracts with EVV: CompanyOn, for supported agencies and programs

Noterro is a strong fit for clinic-based solo practitioners who want a low entry price and AI charting; CompanyOn is the stronger fit for mobile, home and community care and for teams that want everything in one price.

Thinking of moving from Noterro to CompanyOn?
Noterro makes it easy to export patients and backups, and our onboarding team helps you import your client list. A typical move is a short checklist rather than a project: import clients, connect Stripe and TELUS eClaims, install the mobile app and run the first week in parallel. Appointment history and past notes may need manual setup.
If after the trial Noterro still fits your clinic better, that is a fine outcome. The goal is a tool that matches how you practice, not a switch for its own sake.

FAQ
CompanyOn vs Noterro: common questions
Is Noterro cheaper than CompanyOn?
At the entry level, yes: Noterro Core is $33 a month against CompanyOn at $39.99. The picture changes once you need text reminders, mobile clinic tools or TELUS eClaims, which move Noterro to Plus ($55) or Max ($77), while CompanyOn includes them in its single plan. Model your own practice on our pricing page and on noterro.com/pricing.
Which one is better for mobile or home-based care?
CompanyOn was designed around the home visit: a native mobile app for schedule, clients and charting, Google Maps routing with mileage estimates, and visit check-in and check-out with EVV workflows for supported agencies, all in the base plan. Noterro GO, available on Plus and Max, adds service areas, travel time buffers, route overviews and a prep list, which works well for a mobile massage or physio practice that does not need EVV.
Does either platform work offline?
Noterro says Noterro GO stores appointment details and navigation data locally for limited connectivity. CompanyOn's mobile app saves AI documentation recordings offline and syncs them later; full offline charting is not something either provider currently lists.
Do both support TELUS eClaims?
Yes. In CompanyOn, TELUS eClaims is included in the plan for eligible practitioners and claim types. In Noterro it is part of the Max tier, together with insurance claims and payments tracking.
Can I switch from Noterro to CompanyOn?
Yes. Export your patients and backups from Noterro, and our onboarding team helps you import your client list; appointment history and notes may need manual setup. Book a demo and we will walk through your data first.
